2 Months Old

Wow! Can you believe it? Ford turned 2 months old yesterday (yes, I am a day late posting this, I will do better). You know when people say everything goes much faster with the second child...they are SO right. It may be going faster but I am sure to sit down every now and then and really enjoy these days. He won't fall asleep in my arms multiple times a day much longer so you can guarantee that I am stopping to enjoy that.

Ford is such a good and easy baby. He weighs a whopping 12 pounds and 11 ounces (75th percentile), a weight his sister didn't see until she was over 6 months old! Yes, I think we have a little chunk on our hands. He eats every 2.5-4 hours during the day and has been consistently going 6 hours at night (which, by the way, is considered sleeping through the night). He has been smiling nonstop at us and really likes when Olivia talks to him. He loves to swing, ride in the car, baths, ceiling fans and his changing table. Thank goodness he is such a good baby. He just tags right along with us and doesn't make a peep. Thank you, Lord for such a little blessing that soon won't be so little.
I love to compare Ford and Olivia's pictures. You can't really tell but he is 2 pounds heavier than her. I am really starting to tell the many differences they have (physically and characteristically).

Olivia and I were talking to him when I snapped this. Apparently, he thinks we're pretty funny.

Sweet, sweet baby.

Is he really that big? I am so not used to chunky babies. I could just pinch on those cute thigh rolls all day long.

My Little Chickadees

Doesn't he look like such a little man?? All he needs is a remote in his hand.

Can't ever get enough of these sweet baby smiles.

Don't ask because we're not real sure what crazy big sister is up to...

Best Daddy of the Year Award

Hands down Hays gets the best daddy of the year award. He spent many hours this week putting together a swing set for Olivia. It is complete with flower pots, a chalk board and even a little telephone. Olivia is in love. She has spent every waking moment in the backyard since it was put up. A big shout out to Papa and our friend, Reid for helping put it together. I foresee many hours of fun happening in our little backyard in the near and far future.

Ford's First Sunday at Church

Today was Ford's first time to go to church with us. We took him with us into service and he was quite the little angel. Of course, all the old ladies had to ooooo and ahhh over him after church was over. We actaully made it to church on time. How? I am not real sure. I didn't realize what a challenge it would be to get 2 kids dressed and ready to be out of the door at a specific time. Hopefully, we will improve with time.

Finger Painting

Since Ford was born and the doctor recommended for him to stay in as much as possible until he gets his shots we have been a bit more home bound than we are all used to. To ease any boredom and prevent anyone from climbing the walls I have tried to come up with fun indoor activities. One for this week was finger painting. It lasted just long enough to get Olivia's first masterpiece.

Is It Just Me???

When Ford was a brand new newborn we all agreed that he looked much like Olivia. As he has grown, people are saying they don't see it anymore. I, on the other hand, think they look just alike. To me Ford looks like a little boy version of Olivia. They both look so much like their daddy. Agree or not, they are some good lookin' kiddos!

A Day to Rejoice

Easter is such a day of celebration. We can rejoice and be glad because Christ rose from the grave on this day and is ALIVE! This day gives us reason to celebrate and know that we will have eternal life with Jesus in heaven if we know Him personally. He did so much for us, sinners. It's amazing the love He has for people that do not deserve it. Easter is such a time to celebrate.

We celebrated by being with family at my Papaw's farm. It was such a nice day. We had a train for the kids to ride, Easter egg dying and hunt and of course, some good ole southern cookin'. On Sunday we went to my parents church then home to have supper with Hays' family.

At Christmas we have a birthday cake for Jesus so Olivia will learn the true meaning of Christmas. I think the Easter bunny is great and the eggs and baskets but that does not tell or celebrate the true meaning of Easter. I need to come up with an idea to celebrate the true meaning in a way that Olivia will grasp. If your family has a tradition, leave me comment. I would love to know.

Olivia's Loot

 Ford's Loot

Do you see that bed head?? Someone slept really good!

Anyone else notice that not a single child in the picture is looking at the camera?? That's just how it goes with little ones.
Nano and Pops with all their babies.

Amie and her boys.

The train made for a fun afternoon. My cousin, Josh (the driver) made it!

Nano and her girl taking a ride.

Hunting for Easter eggs.

Dying Easter eggs. Please excuse the nakedness. We wanted to keep the Easter dress purple not multicolored. :)

Sweet cousins.
