7 Months

Yes, you did read the title correctly. Olivia is 7 months old today. I have said that over and over to myself all day and still cannot believe that our baby is 7 months old! It seems like the last month she has grown up so much. She is no longer the infant that just lays or her back on a blanket just looking around. She is sitting up now and is into EVERYthing. It's a struggle just to get this child's diaper changed. She is a very curious baby and has to know what is going on at all times.

She is continuing to eat 3 meals a day (she has tried 4 fruits and 2 vegetables) and is nursing 5 times a day. The solid food is also helping her sleep much better at night and take longer naps during the day. Some things she loves MOST: her activity gym, when her daddy comes home from work, the fish tank, Lilly, strolls around the neighborhood, her bell toy, her lovies and ninny and to be rocked to sleep at night. Olivia is such a blessing and not one night has gone by the last 7 months that we haven't thanked God for her.

This is how Olivia ends everyday. I know all the books say don't rock babies to sleep. I would not take back one second that I have rocked her. I cherish this time every night and will hate when the day comes that I cannot do so.
On a side note: Hays and I spent most of today making baby food. I know we are doing what is best for Olivia but oh, how I despise the process!

Baby Dolls and Books

Olivia played with her baby doll for the first time of many, I am sure. She had such a good time chewing on its feet, hands and of course, the tag. I try to keep this busy little girl as occupied as possible. She also loves to sit in my lap and look at books. She's such a mess. Happy hump day!

Isn't She Darling??

This is a picture of Olivia after church on Sunday. Don't let this look fool you. She wasn't so darling in the nursery. We were in service for all of about 20 minutes before we were paged to come get this little stinker. I have tried and tried to figure out the exact cause for these screaming and crying outbursts but I cannot figure it out. One Sunday she will be fine (like last week) and this week she was terrible. I have faith it will get much better and she will grow to love church and the nursery. We'll give it a go again next Sunday. :)

Our Growing Girl

After a good afternoon nap.
Who gave the pretty girl a mohawk?
She LOVES reading her books.
At the doctor's office. Poor baby had to get 2 shots.
Yesterday we went to the doctor for Olivia's 6 month check up. The story is much the same as previous check ups. She is going to be one petite little girl. As the doctor said, "she did come into the world this way". She weighs 13 pounds and 7 ounces which is less than the 5th percentile! Although, she is in the 30th percentile for length. She is healthy and developing perfectly. What more could we ask for?
Olivia is now eating 3 meals a day, which consist of cereal, fruits and veggies (I know we are all jealous of the food she's getting these days). She has tried two fruits and 2 vegetables and has grown to love all of them. She is actually favoring the baby food that we make at home which is a total score for us. Healthy and easy on the budget.
On a side note, I am on my 13th day of the 30 day shred. I am staying committed although it is very tough. I think I underestimated Jillian's abilties for a 20 minute workout.

Our Super Hero Turns 5!

Kai turned 5 today and is officially a big boy! Everyone had fun at his super hero party on Saturday. It was so hot outside that day so I'm sure the kids appreciated the blow up slippin' slide. Although the birthday boy got slightly upset when a little girl blew his candles out before he got a chance (can you blame the kid??). Other than the candle mishap, the day was filled with cake, ice cream and LOTS of super hero toys.

Seems like yesterday when Kai was born. Being 10 weeks early, he only weighed a tad over 2 pounds. He was so fragile and delicate but now is all boy and full of energy and life. Life would be slightly boring without him around. We love you, Kai!

Just Pics Of The Girl

Reading a book. Starting just a tad early. She might be an overachiever.
Those are some beautiful blue eyes.

Olivia and her best bud.

Learned a new trick at Nano's house this weekend. I promise she had just eaten dinner. :)

Update

Amie is now home from the hospital. They were able to stop the contractions with use of medications that she will now be on for the remainder of the pregnancy. She will also be on strict bedrest until 32 weeks. Our family appreciates all of your thoughts and prayers and asks for continued prayers for a healthy pregnancy the remainder of the time. God is so good!

Prayer Warriors Are Being Called

This morning around 1am Amie (my sister) was checked into the hospital for contractions that were 3 minutes apart. She is 28 weeks pregnant and has a history of delivering babies early (she delivered Kai at 30 weeks). As of now, they have stopped the contractions with medication. She is awaiting a high risk doctor to come in to see her. She will be on bedrest for the remainer of the pregnancy. Please keep her in your prayers. Please pray for the health of mommy and the little life inside of her. Pray that the doctors will be able to keep her from delivering too early. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Prayer, as we all have seen before, can move mountains.

30 Day Shred

So I have about 10 pounds to lose before I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight and I am dertermined to get it off. I don't want to be one of those that gains 10 pounds with every pregnancy and then is over weight after it is all said and done. So I gave myself a very doable goal. My 10 year high school reunion (which I am in denial about) is in one month. So I am doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred until then. Hays and I (he would kill me if he knew I was telling everyone that he did it) did the video for the first time tonight. It is only 20 minutes long but I thought I was going to die. I really hate doing workout videos but with the heat outside right now and a small baby to tote with me, this is the best option. The jogging stroller will get plenty of use in the fall. So here goes nothing....day 1 of 30 completed.

Look Who's Sitting Up

Miss Olivia is now sitting up for a short period of time by herself. Tear....Tear.... Our baby girl is growing up. After a minute or two she topples over to the front face first or falls backwards.

We also started eating carrots today. She seemed to really enjoy them. I think she's going to be like her mommy and like her fruits and veggies. Hope everyone has a good hump day!

Sinks Aren't Just For Dishes In This House

Yep, Olivia had a bath in the kitchen sink the other night. She loves to be in water, it doesn't matter where it is. She can be in a pool, kitchen sink or bath tub and she is going to have a good time splashing around. She is becoming such a big girl these days. She has made a lot of lead way to almost being able to sit up by herself. She also tried applesauce this week and LOVES it. She's not missing any meals these days (and sleeping much better too). :)

Beach With The Girls Plus One

Olivia and I just got back from our annual girls trip to the beach (plus the turkey below). Every year me, Aunt Cindy, Amie, Kai, mom and now Olivia take a couple of days to relax. We had a great time. Not many pictures this year due to no trips to the actual beach because of the oil and forgetting the camera every time we went to the pool. Like always, it wasn't nearly long enough and we even had an extra day this year. Our goal for next year is to rent a house and have the ENTIRE family join us. A BIG thanks to Mr. Jan and Mrs. Gail for letting us borrow the condo.
