Ummm...what is she doing???

Well folks, it has happened. She has started climbing. My little angel that never got into anything (ha!) or never climbed anything, has turned a corner. I was taking a nice, hot, long shower (I know...no more of those) on Saturday and Hays was doing some work on the other side of the house while assuming Olivia was either a.watching Barney, or b.playing with her toys in the living room. He came in to check on her to find her ON YES, ON THE KITCHEN TABLE! She scooted one of the chairs from her little table to the kitchen table and shimmied herself up. Then proceeded to pick the leaves off the flowers and throw dirt all over the kitchen floor. What happened to the good ole days of just staring at her kicking away in her bouncy seat or laying on her back on the floor staring at the fan go round and round??

Those days are long gone but oh, how I love this little girl and all the adventures we go through and yes, even the endless amounts of messes she makes behind me frantically trying to clean up.

Just Pics of the Girl

Enjoying the park one afternoon. She pitched the biggest fit when we had to leave.

This cuteness was staying up way past her bedtime. How can you put those big blue eyes to bed??

I think we have the only child on the planet that does not sleep in the car. She was doing this half way down there and screamed the other half. Calls for a very long 4 hours.

Not a big fan of pony tails. It was kinda tight. We'll try again sometime.

One morning I got a nice, long, hot shower at the expense of a whole roll of toilet paper, an entire box of q-tips and a whole bag of cotton balls. I'd have to say the shower was totally worth it!

Zoo Day

The weather has been too beautiful to not be outside enjoying it. So Olivia and I took advantage of it and ventured to the zoo. We had such a fun time. She would stand right in front of each animal and scream at the top of her lungs (that ear piercing kind of scream). I guess she was trying to communicate with them, who knows.

She has some serious bed head going on that morning.

Savoring these moments with just her. Before I know it there will be 3 of us going to the zoo.:)

Beach Trip: Numero Cinco (last one of the summer)

Well, summer has officially come to an end. Last weekend we took our last trip to the beach for the year (planned, anyway). If I could choose anytime to go to the beach it would be early fall. The crowds are gone and the weather is absolutely perfect. We went with two of Hays' great friends from high school and their wives. One of them has a little girl, Laurie, that is just a month younger than Olivia. They had the BEST time playing together. The other couple has no children and probably won't ever after this weekend. Two toddlers in one small condo creates lots of noise and stinky diapers. We still had a great time and like always, it just wasn't long enough.

I guess we were having so much fun that we didn't have time to capture any of it with our camera. That or we were always busy feeding, changing diapers and playing with our beautiful girls. One night we ordered pizza and took it down on the beach and let the girls play while we ate dinner. Now that is pure bliss.

Best buds. They would wake up in the morning and would just hug on each other. So sweet.

These are 2 really busy bodies. They kept us on our toes all weekend. What did we do before them? Oh yeah, read books, worked on our tan, took naps on the beach, went out for dinner, had drinks by the pool. Oh well, this is WAY more fun!

Boston....well, how about Lake Tahoe?

About 4 months ago we purchased plane tickets to Boston and also bought 2 tickets to two Red Sox/Yankees games. We were so excited about our little getaway to a city we both have always wanted to visit. Hays was beside himself about getting to go to those baseball games. Well, it didn't quite happen. We were supposed to fly out the day hurricane Irene made land fall in New York City and Boston. Needless to say, our flights were cancelled and we wouldn't get there until later that week.

We were already packed and in Memphis to drop Olivia off when we found out our flights were cancelled.  We decided to take the credit we had from those flights and still go somewhere since Olivia was going to be taken care of for the week. So in about 2 hours on the day before we were to leave we chose a destination, booked flights and made reservations at a resort. Let me remind you, we are BIG planners and always have our trips booked way ahead of time. We picked a fantastic place to vacation and had a great baby moon!

California is THE place to visit in late summer. There were no crowds and the weather was absolutely perfect (although we were not packed for it). We hiked, took a sunset kayak tour, got massages, biked, rafted down a river, napped by the pool, went to a bluegrass festival, slept late and the list goes on and on. We had such a great time, maybe Boston will happen next year, maybe....

How could you miss Boston when you are looking at this?

We even had a free night to play scrabble by the fire. Yes, we are dorks!

Who sits by one of these in late August? I guess Californians.

We sure did miss this cutie! I think she loves her Neno more than her momma now.:)
