Out for Summer

Summer time has hit around here and we have been taking full advantage of the carefree days. We have no "school", no Bible study and no pressing obligations. We have been...

...playing, playing and doing more playing.
The house won't see a clean day until fall.
"Sissy, why do you always have to be so dramatic?"

...and doing MORE playing.
Peek-a-boo around the fridge door.

...taking lots of tricycle and wagon rides followed by lots of bubble blowing.

...searching for honey because someones tummy has been rumbly like Pooh Bear's.

...taking naps by the pool while sissy swims like a fishy for hours on end.

...and hanging out pretending to "voooommm" while sissy takes swim lessons.
May the carefree days of summer drag on forever.

The Little Dancing Star

Olivia had her first dance recital and of course, we thought she stole the show. She is a natural on stage. We aren't real sure what really was supposed to be happening seeing that not one girl was doing the same thing throughout the whole show but it was the cutest show ever nonetheless. I thought she would be shy and kinda just stand and stare out into the crowd but it's safe to say she was drumming (or dancing) to her own beat. You'll see what I mean by the pictures.

The ballerina herself, matching bear and all.

Those little tutus are the absolute cutest.

And 2 seconds later this is what she's doing.

So proud of our little ballerina.

Counting down til the next big show.

All Girls

For Mother's Day weekend, Olivia and I left the boys at home and traveled up to Memphis to surprise Nano. When we knocked on her door to surprise her I'm not sure who was more excited, Olivia or Nano. Olivia was so thrilled she just about split all the water out of the flowers on the front porch that were to be given to Nano. We also surprised Nano with tickets to Paul McCartney. You would have thought she won the lottery she was so excited. I'm pretty sure she touched the ceiling she jumped so high with joy.

We then surprised her with tickets to the Women's luncheon at her church and invited Memaw and Aunt Amie to come too (thanks Laura for the secret invite). To say it was a good weekend would be an understatement. Maybe this girls trip should become a tradition....

Olivia and one of her favorite people in the whole world.

Memaw and Nano.

 Mom and Amie.

I am blessed to call this woman my mom. She has been there for all of us and our children and we could not ask for a better mother, friend and grandmother. I hope to carry at least half her legacy.

Me and the sis. She's pretty good to have around too. ;)

My girl.

This picture is to show you what a three year old does at a luncheon. Colors with a marker all over her face and lips. #neveradullmoment

We did have a couple of boys around for the weekend. They were good company.
Best buds.

Mr. and Miss Independent

Suddenly we have hit the independence stage with both children in our household at the SAME time.

Miss Priss has hit the "I wanna do it by myself" stage. This stage has its pros and cons, I think. She can now buckle herself in her car seat but she also wants to pick out her own clothes and dress herself. I'm still trying to decide if the pros out weigh the cons. I'm thinking not....

This is the first time she picked out her own clothes and put them on by herself. The Mickey Mouse shirt is backwards and the shorts were put on through one leg hole with 100% of one butt cheek hanging out the back. Oh, and no socks. Nonetheless, she was so proud of herself and honestly, so was I. I convinced her to fix the shorts (thank goodness) but she wore the shirt backwards for the rest of the day.

And this little guy....is now crawling everywhere and getting into everything including the dogs water bowl and even ventured into his sissy's room while she was still napping. #neveradullmoment

But those wrist rolls, dimples in his hands, thigh rolls and those perfect little feet make it all worth while.
Love my babies even if they are growing too fast and gradually not needing their momma like they used to.

Insta-May

What would we do without instagram these days? These pictures that are stored on my phone in the thousands (yes, way too many, I know) can tell such a sweet story of this season of our life.

We often have "friends" join us on our daily activities. They get lots of attention from their little momma throughout the day. On this day our friend was Olivia, the pig.

Just like his sissy, he could swing ALL day long.

Treat for the girl and the giraffe.

Rockin' this sweet baby cause babies don't keep.
#NEVERgetsold

Four generations. Blessed.

Our first furry baby. These lively additions to the family in the last few years has made her grey just like her momma and daddy.

Smitten

Do you see this little boy? This is a picture of what you would call smitten.
We were eating lunch at Chickfila when this family with a little girl not much older than Ford sat down in the booth next to us. Next thing I know Ford's head is cocked to the side and he starts just a smiling and flirting with her. And yes, the little girl was soaking it up and waving and giggling right back at him. This continued for a good 10 minutes.

Early Morning Snuggles

Olivia is a snuggler. Many times during the day, usually early morning, after nap time and before bedtime this girl has got to get in some snuggle time with either mommy or daddy. Sometimes others will join in like Care Bear. Can't say that any of us mind too much at all.

Big Boy Haircut

On May 1, 2013, Ford went for  his first big boy haircut. He was having trouble seeing through his hair and the nursery workers at church threatened to get scissors out and cut it themselves so I figured it was time to bite the bullet and cut my baby's hair. I'm not sure how it's already time for these type of occurrences. I am NOT ready for my baby to be a big boy.

I mean, look at him....so darn cute.

To say that he liked it would be a far stretch.

He didn't exactly cry but he tried his best to get those scissors away from him.

Sweet, sweet baby boy with a big boy haircut now.
