It's Summertime!!!

We have made our first trip to the splash park......

and our first trip to the beach.......
it is definitely summertime in the Collins household. Whoohoo!!!

Sweet Ford

"Mommy, this tummy time stuff is hard work. Can I please get up now?"

This was Ford's idea of being a beach bum while we were at the beach last weekend. That's okay, mommy didn't need a tan anyway.

I'm not sure who he gets this face from while he's sleeping but I know it's not from his mommy.

Over the past 3 months I have come to the realization that it's a much easier task to get great pictures of babies than a 2 year old. They are just so photogenic, or at least I know Ford is. :)

Such sweetness.

He's definitely a mamma's boy....

My Wil

Olivia absolutely adores her cousin, Wil Franklin. We spent Memorial Day weekend at the beach with Wil Franklin and every morning since then Olivia will wake up and ask where her Wil is. She just loves him and I pray they will always be close. I am hoping that many years from now when they are in high school and beyond he will look after her since she doesn't have a big brother.

This is what happens when all your cousins are boys....

you get a very well rounded little girl. She loves to play dress up but is not afraid of the dirt either.

Being the Big Sister

I think it's safe to say that Olivia is fulfilling her role as a big sister quite well these days. Some days I feel sorry for Ford and some days I think he probably is one of the luckiest little fellas on the face of the planet. I am sure the following photos will explain why I feel this way.

After nap time a lot of days she makes me put him on her bed so they can "play". Not so bad, right? Well, one of them looks happy for sure, the other is debatable.

The other day Olivia learned how to put her shoes on all by herself. They may not be matching AND on the wrong feet but she did do it all by herself.

This new task was learned at poor Ford's expense. I foresee many more days that he will play "dress up". Poor little guy is being tortured without even really knowing it. He might learn to walk much earlier than Olivia did just so he will be able to minimize these experiences.

She loves to kiss Ford, give him his ninny when he's crying, wipe him with the burp cloth (even if it's not necessary), pat his head, burp him, yell for me when he's frrrrying and talk to him nonstop. One thing she cannot do is feed him. So instead she grabs her baby and feeds her when she's hungry. Don't you like the head pillow for her pretend boppy pillow?

Ford also likes to have afternoon tea (or so he's being told). He even gets a little sugar in his tea...such a sweet big sister.

This is what the 3 of us do in the afternoons after nap time, snuggle. She may torture him to no end but she also loves him with a big heart. I am sure she'll always take good care of her little brother.
