We have been some busy little bees lately checking items on our summer bucket list. We have been home the last week with no camps or VBS so we have had fun filled days.
Swim lessons finally came to end. We took for a solid month for 4 days a week. It was NOT our little fishy's favorite activity. To say she was excited they were over would be a far understatement. She did well and even learned what to do if she ever fell in accidentally. I'd say it was well worth the money. Maybe she will enjoy it a bit more next summer.
We have begged her to play humpty dumpty (or jump off the side to us) in our neighborhood pool and she refuses every time. She would rather play with her Nemo and Crush than pretend to fall in.
We ventured to the movies to see Monsters University with both kids.
This was the first time Olivia and Ford have even been to the movies. It was a BIG hit with our big sister.
Not so much for the little brother.
He made it through the previews (which I'm pretty sure lasted for a solid hour) and then crawled around in the Exit hallway for the rest of the movie.
If the little guy wakes up early enough he gets the pleasure of going running with the mommy. He's a great running partner. Doesn't make a peep the entire time. We just jam to our music, watch the sun rise and get in some much needed exercise.
If he's cranky in the afternoons he gets the pleasure of riding with the daddy. If he's got juice, he doesn't make one peep. Pretty good exercise partner to say the least.
The little brother LOVES loud noises. Anytime there is a loud truck, motorcycle or anything big anywhere within seeing and hearing distance you better bet he's going to do everything within his ability to find it.
All boy.
The big sister has been trying out her culinary skills lately. We have made homemade ice cream, homemade popsicles, cupcakes and cookies within the last 3 days.
Decorating the cupcakes we were supposed to take to the firemen when we toured the fire station but we accidentally ate them all (don't worry we made them cookies instead). Notice she had to have blue icing. Oh, and our vanilla homemade ice cream was blue as well. Surprise, surprise.
They were just too tempting.
Touring the fire station.
This little guy soaked in every minute. He loved the big truck, the loud sirens, the steering wheel, jabbering away to the firemen....sissy, on the other hand, hid in the stroller, would NOT take a picture and barely said a word.
She, on the other hand, LOVES the library. I'm convinced we could go there every day of the week and she would be fine with it. We check out a minimum of 15 books every time we make a visit.
She was so proud that she found a book about Minnie and Mickey Mouse.
Today was our Jammie/play day/get the house as messy as we can day. Pretty sure we were successful at every one of those tasks.
Out of all the fun things we have done it doesn't really surprise me that this is the day that Ford enjoys the most. He knows how to relax with the best of them.
We always end these summer (well, most) days with a good story time. Even Ford got to join in on the bedtime reading with Daddy and Sissy.
Snuggled up to her favorite.
Love.Love.Love. being busy little bees.
