First Mother's Day

Before church.... sweet angel

This is what I found in the nursery that morning. Olivia has a very sweet daddy that helped her out a bit this year.

So, of course, this is my first year to celebrate Mother's Day as a mother. Usually this day is all about the mothers around me. Last year we didn't even know we were pregnant (a lot can happen in one year). Hays did a very good job to make it extra special for me. I was showered with gifts, was relieved of all "duties" for the day (or most of them anyway...changing diapers) and also had dinner cooked for me and babysitters to watch Olivia while we enjoyed a nice dinner outside. I could not have asked for anything better. It was a great day!

I cannot describe what a blessing it is to be a mother. No one can ever prepare you for the adventure of being a parent and I truly never thought I could love someone so much. I will agree with those that say that it is the hardest, most rewarding job on this earth. I look forward not only to the many more Mother's Days but the "everyday" life and what we will endure and enjoy.

Pre-Mother's Day In Memphis

Olivia and I went to Memphis on Wednesday so we could spend time with my mom (Nano) for Mother's Day. We came back on Saturday after meeting Hays in Batesville to visit my mom's mom (Memaw). We had a great time visiting and it always seems like it's never quite long enough.

Kai, Olivia, Kayla, Joshua and Eli (missing Jon David)
Lots of kiddos to look after

Olivia and Nano
(she IS the best....don't even think about arguing with me on this subject!)

Papaw W. and Olivia (she got lots of lovin)
Memaw and her great-grandchildren

A Good Girl In Church

Mason, Olivia and Semmes

Many of you might remember a post I did last Sunday about Olivia and her behavior in church. She was not a very good girl while we were in service and the nursery workers had to page me to come get her. Not a good feeling for this new mommy. I knew that I was still going to continue to take her to the nursery and she would just have to get used to it. This Sunday I was a tad nervous throughout the service thinking my pager would go off any minute. Well, when we walked into the nursery this is what we found. All 3 babies getting lots of loving and having fun. We thought this was the cutest thing, all 3 of them in a circle. The nursery worker was doing such a great job I asked her if I could take her home with me (haha j/k....sorta)!

Olivia's New Toy

We got Olivia an activity gym this weekend thinking we wouldn't use it until she got a little bigger. We went ahead and put it together and put her in it just to see what she would do and she loved it. She likes talking to the sunshine and star. She babbles on and on to them; makes me wonder exactly what she's telling them. I think we might have a BIG talker when she gets older. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing. She can't stay in it too long because she gets overstimulated (or that's what her mommy thinks anyway).
Mother's Day post to come very soon.
