The Future Saints Quarterback

Well, it's looking like they already need him on the team. Who Dat Nation, y'all just wait until year 2035.....we're working on tackling crawling for now but y'all just wait.....

Thankfulness

I am so blessed. I have so many things to be thankful for, big and small. Here is my 2012 thankful list in no particular order of importance and of course, not listing all things.

-Thankful for rare quiet moments by myself (even if it's to the bathroom, still counts).
-Thankful for a baby to snuggle with and rock before bedtime (and the fact that I have not been rocking much in the middle of the night with round #2).
-Thankful for parents that love our babies when we need some time away from them (Nanos and Gigis are the best in time of great need).
-Thankful for our home that is stuffed to the brim (even the handprints ALL over the windows, the sticky doorknobs from candy coated fingers and the spit up all over the hardwood floors).
-Thankful for MOMS bible study and how it has helped me grow as a mother, Christian and wife (even if we barely make it on time EVERY week).
-Thankful for the park that is nearby and how such simple things make my girls heart so full.
-Thankful for coffee and Pumpkin Spice coffeemate (even though I only get it on special occasions because usually my arms are full of babies).
-Thankful for a husband that is so selfless, kind, understanding and always striving to be the best and then be even better than that.
-Thankful that I can stay home each day and take care of my babies (even if some days I am covered in poop, spit up or taming the tantrums of a 2 year old).
-Thankful for this blog so I can look back and remember the sweet moments that will slip my mind many days from now.
-SO SO thankful for a Father that thought I was worth saving from my sin. Thankful that this is not my home for eternity.

Thankful for these 3 that surround me everyday.

Thankful for this growing family.

Thankful for these 2 that keep my world turning.

Thankful for sweet treats.

Thankful for Pops and Papas that let us borrow their Nanos and Gigis at the drop of a hat.
So, so, so many things to be thankful for this year.

When the cat's away, the mice will play...

Isn't that the saying I'm looking for.....anyway, Hays went on our annual Wendy's trip to Las Vegas that raises money for adoption and I decided to stay behind and hold down the fort. Nano came for a few days to keep us company and give me a little breather. If you don't have a Nano you should get ya one. We're lucky to have her and oh, so thankful for her.

We tried not to have too much fun while the cat was away but it's hard when I have these 2 mice in company. We ran lots of errands. Not really in a timely manner but who cares.

Oh, the sibling love. I may or may not have told her to put her arm around her little brother....sometimes you have to take an opportunity and run with it. She really does love him though, most of the time.

Olivia suggested a picnic one night in our bedroom for supper. Couldn't deny such a simple request. Buddy Boo joined in on the floor fun.

We took a couple of trips to our home away from home...the park. Can you tell he was missing his daddy???

Nano kept the kids on Sunday so I could go with Jay, Rebecca and Wendy to the Saints game. We had SUCH a good time and it was SUCH a good game.

Olivia had some lessons on sharing. She is willing to share her lovies with Lilly, the dog but sharing with little brothers is still a work in progress.

We missed our daddy cat while he was gone....oh, so glad he's back home. I'll tame down the mice now....:)

Halloween 2012-Snow White and Sleepy

Halloween is such a fun time for little kids. We don't celebrate any of the scary stuff but it is fun to see them get so excited to do things they don't get to do on a daily basis. It's fun to play dress up, go trick or treating with neighbors and enjoy eating lots of candy (of course, just the kids).

I'm sure y'all can guess who our pumpkin was?? He's a pretty popular guy around our household. His sidekick was Mr. Potato Head but we didn't get a picture of him.

And...drum roll please....Snow White and Sleepy (or Happy or Grumpy, whichever he decides at the moment). It was too good of an opportunity to pass up the coordinating costumes. Maybe I can make it happen one more year. They both looked adorable.

The happy little pumpkin.

Dress up birthday party in Memphis.
The Ninja Turtle (the one that eats pizza, of course), Batman, Snow White and Sleepy (or Happy at that moment).

Trick or Treating at Gigi and Papa's.
Iron Man, Snow White and Sleepy.

They LOVE each other. It's more like a brother/sister relationship and can get quite interesting and funny at times.

Snow White enjoying her treats. The candy was her absolute favorite of the whole night (or should I say week).

It was obviously Sleepy's favorite too. He liked to pretend that he was eating the candy or chew on the yummy tasting package.:)

This was the aftermath. Both digging in the candy bowl and having the time of their lives. It's the little things....

Hopefully, Snow White will eat some good apples and be a good little girl and Sleepy will catch on to his name and start sleeping through the night soon. One can hope.....:).

The Pop Up

We took the pop up camper on another excursion. We only had one free night so we took off to Turkey Creek with our good friends, the Odoms. We had a wonderful time. Olivia asks if and when we are getting the camper ALL the time so to say she was excited about our overnight trip would be an understatement. To say she had a good time would be another extreme understatement.

I guess it's safe to say that this girl LOVES the outdoors. She had the best time swinging, playing in the dirt and walking around in the dark with the flashlight.

Our view from the camper. You just can't beat it!
Building sweet memories with our children and enjoying God's creation. Well worth the money we spent on a pop up. Our two year old is counting down til the next time we go for us.:)

My Girl

My girl is growing up way too fast. These past 2 1/2 years have flown by and I just know I'm going to have a 16 year old before I can blink my eyes. She definitely keeps us on our toes and laughing until sometimes we are crying. She also has a mind of her own and a strong personality and spends SOME time in the chair in her bedroom (some days more than others).

I thought I would share some funny things she has said recently. If only I could remember every single one of them. Half the time I'm laughing hysterically at and with her and the other half I'm shocked that she could use certain words in sentences or understand fully what I'm telling her. I'm a little biased but she's one smart cookie.

***Every time I get her out of her car seat I always have to put her shoes back on because for some reason she likes to take them off. Every. Single. Time. I finally got tired of it and asked her why she did it and to please not do it anymore. She replies by saying "But mommy, then I can't see my pretty toenails!!"    What.a.girl.

***I think every 2 year old goes through phases of loving certain movies and wanting to watch them a gazillion times. Well, we went through The Lion King phase and that's all she wanted to watch. In Sunday School her teacher was teaching about Noah's Ark and had two of each animal out on the table for the children to see. Olivia looks, throws her hands up in the air and yells "THE LION KING!!!"  I mean, sorta.

***Olivia has been really into eating lunchables lately. She eats almost all of it every time so we really don't argue when she says she wants a lunchable for meals. We are just happy she's eating something. One day after lunch I am putting her down for a nap when she yells "wait mommy, the cheese". I had no idea what she was talking about until she goes over to her play kitchen and pulls out the block of cheese from her lunchable from inside the microwave. Oh goodness.

Never.a.dull.moment.

This is her school picture. She's so grown.

Love, love, love my girl.

8 Months

Is it already that time again??? Time to give the monthly update on our little guy because another month has passed. Crazy how time flies when you're having fun and keeping up with 2 very busy children.

Ford is such a delightful baby. He is smiling in 99% of the pictures we take because that's about the percentage of time he is happy, content and giving us that big grin. He is now on 100% formula and takes 4 eight ounce bottles a day. He eats baby food three times a day or more like I am trying to convince him to eat it and that it's yummy. He's not buying it too much so we are trying to move on to real food. He has enjoyed yogurt, baked beans, goldfish, cheerios (which he loves) and puffs. When we feed him something he really enjoys he makes this I'm so happy humming sound as he chews away. Silly boy. While camping (update on that soon) he slept through the night for the first time in what seems likes ages. I'm not sure if it's teeth (which he has 8 of) or what but he wakes up at least 2-3 times a night needing his ninny, lovie or just some snuggling.

He is growing like a weed and weighs around 21-22 pounds and wears size 4 diapers and 9-12 month cloths. He is catching up quite quickly with his big (or should I say small) sister which only outweighs him by a mere 3 pounds. He loves his activity gym, to chew on plastic spoons, Lilly, the fish, playing on our bed, his teething bell, riding in the car and stroller, playing on the floor, his lovie and ninny and to be rocked before bedtime. Poor guy is having some trouble figuring out the whole crawling situation (or lack thereof). He hasn't yet mastered rolling over, scooting or any other movements. If you look at the last picture of this post you will see what happens when we have tummy time. He decides that it's rest time and puts his head down. We have one laid back, lazy baby. As for now, I am enjoying the stationary Budah that is still sitting in the same spot when I come back into the room. Hoping for more achievements in this area next month.:)

I will leave you with some too cute not to post pictures of our big, stationary 8 month old.
