OH. MY. GOODNESS.

Me and my boyfriend...Drew Brees

YES!!!, your eyes are seeing what you think they are seeing! We met Drew Brees in the Houston airport. I'm sure most of you know that we are big Saints fans. We have season tickets and try to make it to all the home games.

We had a mighty long layover in the Houston airport. Jay was able to get us ridiculously cheap tickets but the catch is that you have to fly stand by. We had no problem getting to North Carolina but on the way home every flight to Jackson from Houston was overbooked. Needless to say, we were in the airport for a very long time on Sunday. The gate to one of the overbooked flights was practically in the dungeon of the Houston airport with what it felt like NO air. I was minding my own business when Hays very nonchalantly tells me to look up. I look up, low and behold I see Drew Brees walk right past us looking for somewhere to sit while waiting on his flight. I FREAK out!!! Rebecca and I like to call him our boyfriend so I frantically get on the phone with her to see if she had made it to Houston yet (she was on a different flight than us). As soon as she got there we trotted right on down to him to get our autograph and picture. Unfortunately, he was on the phone the entire time. He got off as he was getting in line to get on the plane. So, needless to say I was that obnoxious girl that begged him for a quick picture before he had to go. Poor guy...I wasn't going to let him go anywhere without getting a picture with him!

I am not one to read People or USWeekly so if I could pick to meet one celebrity it would be to meet Drew Brees. Love him. Check off the ole bucket list.

Traveling With a Baby

It's funny the things you'll do with baby #2 that you would have NEVER dreamed about doing with baby #1. Ford will not take a bottle so he came to North Carolina with us. I was so nervous about traveling with him because I have never flown with an infant before and nursing in public is NOT my cup of tea. All went well though. As you can see from the pictures below, Ford was a super star traveler and the nursing was not all that bad.

He slept the entire plane ride there...

he slept most of the way through the airport...

he slept most of the game away...

and he slept the entire plane ride home.
We told him while we were traveling that we really wouldn't mind if he wanted to play baseball at Delta State. He looks to be pretty interested in the sport...:)

Flying(literally) by the Seat of Our Pants

As most of you know, both Hays and I graduated from Delta State University. We try to be diligent alumni and continue to keep up with what is going on around campus. We try to make at least 2 trips back a year to attend baseball and football games. What can I say, we LOVE our school and miss being there.

The Delta State baseball team were in the Division II playoffs this year. They made it to the Championship game by the skin of their teeth by winning a game that was played last Friday at 10am. At about 1pm Friday Hays and I decided we would make the trip to North Carolina to see them play in the Championship. This was way out of the box for me. I am a BIG planner and usually would never decide on the spur of the moment to take a trip like this.  BUT we have a close friend, Jay that is a commercial pilot that can get us cheap plane tickets. So we talked Jay and Rebecca into going with us and were on our way within 16 hours of making the decision.

Even with a 3 month in tow and 2 very long days in the airport we had a fantastic time. Delta State ended up losing 9 to 0 (I know, it was bad, really bad). That's okay, they put up a big fight to get there and we will be back next year. Go Fighting Okra!

Ford's first DSU baseball game. Who would have thought it would be in North Carolina (gotta be sure to record this in the baby book).

Aunt Rebecca and Uncle Jay
. Not sure what we would do without great friends that will agree to do crazy, spur of the moment things with us. Love them.

Coach Boo Ferriss, Hays and Ford
Boo played with the Red Sox and also coached the DSU baseball team. Hays LOVES! him and was pumped about getting a picture with him and Ford. Sweet moment.
