Meet My Friend, Bortella

My Junior League project this year is to volunteer at the Jackson Zoo. I will be spending lots of time at the zoo in the upcoming months working special events and such. So, I guess, Bortella and I will become pretty good friends. I'm not so sure if I am very excited about this or not. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

How can I resist???

How can I reist but to post such cuteness....

This sweet (and chubby) cheeks has got my heart.

Play Date With "My Wil"

Wil Franklin or as Olivia will call him, "My Wil" came over the other day for a little play date. We decided to break out the finger paint for some entertainment. It occupied maybe 2 minutes of these busy, little toddlers time then they were on to something else.

Ford, Camilla (sweet lady that is almost like family that helps clean our house),
Wil Franklin and Olivia

Olivia was all about the messy paint.

Wil Franklin, not so much.

The masterpieces.

Do we have a Leonardo Da Vinci on our hands??

No, probably not but it was still fun to pretend.
We broke out the sidewalk paint for some fun yesterday afternoon.

She is quite the artist. Well, I am her mother.:)

Rock a Bye Baby

Or not!
The other night I was leaning down to kiss this little one goodnight and this is what I received in return. It's like instead of crying to expend extra energy this little, happy man will grin and laugh. You won't hear any complaints from this momma.

So, what did we do for the next 10 or so minutes? We laughed and grinned at each other.
 Love this silly boy.

OH. MY. GOODNESS.

Me and my boyfriend...Drew Brees

YES!!!, your eyes are seeing what you think they are seeing! We met Drew Brees in the Houston airport. I'm sure most of you know that we are big Saints fans. We have season tickets and try to make it to all the home games.

We had a mighty long layover in the Houston airport. Jay was able to get us ridiculously cheap tickets but the catch is that you have to fly stand by. We had no problem getting to North Carolina but on the way home every flight to Jackson from Houston was overbooked. Needless to say, we were in the airport for a very long time on Sunday. The gate to one of the overbooked flights was practically in the dungeon of the Houston airport with what it felt like NO air. I was minding my own business when Hays very nonchalantly tells me to look up. I look up, low and behold I see Drew Brees walk right past us looking for somewhere to sit while waiting on his flight. I FREAK out!!! Rebecca and I like to call him our boyfriend so I frantically get on the phone with her to see if she had made it to Houston yet (she was on a different flight than us). As soon as she got there we trotted right on down to him to get our autograph and picture. Unfortunately, he was on the phone the entire time. He got off as he was getting in line to get on the plane. So, needless to say I was that obnoxious girl that begged him for a quick picture before he had to go. Poor guy...I wasn't going to let him go anywhere without getting a picture with him!

I am not one to read People or USWeekly so if I could pick to meet one celebrity it would be to meet Drew Brees. Love him. Check off the ole bucket list.

Traveling With a Baby

It's funny the things you'll do with baby #2 that you would have NEVER dreamed about doing with baby #1. Ford will not take a bottle so he came to North Carolina with us. I was so nervous about traveling with him because I have never flown with an infant before and nursing in public is NOT my cup of tea. All went well though. As you can see from the pictures below, Ford was a super star traveler and the nursing was not all that bad.

He slept the entire plane ride there...

he slept most of the way through the airport...

he slept most of the game away...

and he slept the entire plane ride home.
We told him while we were traveling that we really wouldn't mind if he wanted to play baseball at Delta State. He looks to be pretty interested in the sport...:)
