BAD Parents of the Year Award

It's raining, it's pouring......
Yep, Hays and I get the bad parents of the year award! We were biking with Olivia a good 5 or 6 miles from the house when it came a down pour and I mean a down pour. We were on a wooded trail so there was no where to go to get out of the weather so we just had to truck it home. Poor baby was soaking wet by the time we got to the house. She didn't seem to mind one bit. Maybe.....it was our special way of building character and enjoying ALL of God's creation. :)

Miscellaneous

We have been doing lots of resting and relaxing around here this week.
We went to Miskelly's (furniture store) to ride the carousel for a play date one day. Listen, we will do just about anything to keep cool and busy on these hot summer days.

Obviously, the girl wanted a cookie and was trying to help herself to one. Instead she just made a mess for the mommy to clean up. I couldn't resist the cuteness of a smile and the legs crossed though.

The girl will just about pop a squat anywhere, comfortable or not.

For Father's Day Hays got a new bike trailer for Olivia to ride in. She LOVES it and will yell (at the top of her lungs) YAAAYYY!!! when she sees us get it out.

Yes, I know. Gross. She is chewing on Lilly's dog bones. She kept grabbing them from Lilly and saying "miiine". Her vocabulary has just about tripled in the last few weeks adding bubbles, Elmo, momma, thank you, please, eat, juice, cheese and many more. I'm not sure if she is ever quiet these days. Babble, babble, talk, talk ALL THE TIME!

A Big Thanks to Nano and Pops!!

We want to say a BIG thank you to Nano and Pops for keeping Olivia so we could go on vacation. I think she had a fabulous time and other than not sleeping well she was on her best behavior. Mom was able to text/email me throughout the trip so we could see our baby girl and know what she was up to. These are some of the pictures that were text/emailed to us. We had a great time away but missed her SOO much and these pictures would just brighten our days.

I didn't ask how many dum dums she got over the course of the week. I'm pretty sure it was quite a few!

Or how many Popsicles she got???

I guess she thought Pops needed some....

Kissing the baby in the mirror....

Olivia says "are you really coming home with me for a week, I'm not so sure about that mister!"

Catching Up....

Whew!!! Let me catch y'all up with what we've been up to. To say that we have been busy would be quite the understatement. My last post was Father's Day and that is unacceptable! So here it goes...playing catch up. Since then Hays and I went on a 7 day cruise to the Bahamas, St.Thomas, St.Maartan and Fort Lauderdale with Hays' parents and brother and sister n law. We had a fabulous time and I will post more details about that later. Olivia stayed with my parents while we were gone.

The week that we came back we brought my sister's 2 boys (Kai and Dalton) home with us for Camp Collins 2011. When I first offered I thought I've got this, it will be easy as pie! Boy, was I wrong. It was CRRRAAAZZZYYYY!!! If one child wasn't crying the other child needed a diaper change and if one child was sleeping the other 2 needed to be fed. It was around the clock work! Wow, Olivia is SOO easy to take care of by herself. We stayed busy going on a million wagon/bike rides, went to the splash park, got yogurt, ate at Chick fil a, watched movies (and of course, Sesame Street), played with bubbles and sidewalk chalk, went swimming, had a jammie day, colored and played, played and played some more. I love those boys but I was glad to see the week come to an end. Until Camp Collins 2012.....maybe!

First walk of many.

Jammie Day.

Is this little stinker not the cutest?? Well, except at night when he won't sleep!

Popsicle Break.

Splash park (people were asking me if I had TWINS??) Ha!

Wagon ride number 357 of the week.

Only way to get this baby to take a nap, in the jogging stroller! Whatever worked for some peace and quiet!

Having 3 kids is no joke! This is what my house looked like 99.9% of the time.

Loving on Uncle Hays (even though he had to give him 2 spankings during the week).

Happy Pops and Papa Day!!!

We love y'all both so much!!!

Happy Da-Da Day to Hays

Olivia and I wanted to wish Hays a very Happy Da-Da day (a day late...oops). She is one lucky girl to have a daddy that loves her SO much. I knew way before we even thought about having babies that Hays would be a perfect daddy to a little girl. Boy, was I right. Now he (or both of us) may not be prepared for what the future holds (as in teenage years) but we are soaking up every minute of this baby girl. I think Olivia may just have her daddy wrapped around her little fingers and he is enjoying every minute of it. I thank God everyday for a man that loves Jesus, me and our baby girl so unbelievably much!

Olivia and I thought we would treat Da-Da extra special with breakfast in bed.
Hays and the mini-me.

Olivia was eying her dada's breakfast.

I had to share some of my favorite pictures of the two.
Can you see Olivia smiling at her daddy for the first time? Yep, she got him then and he's been toast ever since.

What We've Been Up To...

We have been so busy the last couple of weeks that I just realized that I need to catch y'all up with what we've been up to. This summer has been fun, crazy and busy! My parents, sister and nephews came for a visit last weekend and we had a ball. I guess we were having so much fun that we forgot to take pictures because we have NONE! They kept Olivia for us so Hays and I could celebrate our 7th (yep, you read it right) anniversary. We had a nice lunch out and then much needed massages. Thanks mom, dad and Amie for keeping the girl so we could have some childless time.

The last two weeks I have been building a house with Habitat. It has been such a blessing to be able to participate in building a home for someone in just 2 weeks. It has been HOT.... can I just say that again, HOT! and a lot of hard work but so worth it. I have missed being with my girl so much though.

We have also had a few summer fun days. We have gotten yogurt and played in the splash park there several times, gone to the children's museum, fed the geese at the reservoir and played at the "real" splash park.  Whew...we LOVE summer time!

Playing at the splash park. She LOVES it and runs around like she's a big girl.
Playing scrabble at the children's museum. Olivia wasn't too impressed. Maybe next time.

These are two best buds. I saw Lilly share her treat with Olivia this afternoon. Yes, Olivia ate it!!

Who said this girl could grow into a toddler so quickly?? NOT this momma!!!

Oh, and we've been eating lots of ice cream and Popsicles.
Mmmm Mmmm good!!

Surprise! This is our new best friend....not really. He's a friendly snake that will hopefully only come around while we aren't outside playing.
